huom ... hush, Master Mornedhel, the Man in the Dark is sleeping .... huom ... alright, then a bowl of that strong-dark-liquid for me too, please, Master Barliman ... huomrûom ...

As you say, it's very quiet. Another Mithril sale would be welcome about now.

A (Mithril) project is under way, so a small break is in order. Are you serving any strong stuff this early?

huoomm ... nothing to say against a fine break from time to time ... huuoooommmm ... though, Master Ddaines, we might discuss the word "small" in this context ... rhuom ... you might remember, I'm the one who pretends to know the discomforts haste could cause ... huom ... a project under way ? ... huom ... please could you be a bit more specific about this matter? ... hom???

I have acquired some of the excellent buildings from Table Top world including the Inn, so as they are having a competition I thought it might give me some incentive to at least try and finish something Mithril related.
I thought a scene as Strider and the hobbits leave Bree would be good to incorporate these buildings. I have had to modify the Inn a bit to make it three stories but artistic licence will have to do for the rest of it.
I will try and post some work in progress pictures

Aha, so you meant a ddaines project rather than a Mithril project.

Well, I am using about 20 - 30 MM's to populate the scene (even you are in it Barli) so if you consider the TT buildings as support to the Mithril stuff it is a Mithril project:).
The idea has been on the drawing board long before I had heard of TT World.

Do I get paid?

Let's see how you turn out
. Might set a precedent though!

Oh that sounds very interesting Master Daines, will be kind of you to share that project.
Let's see how that Barli fits in

Behind the bar being paid by someone, I hope.

huooomm ... thank you very much for clarifying certain matters, Master Ddaines ... huom ... now I know why you put the word Mithril in brackets ... rhuoomm ... and yes, by now I'm very keen on having a look at some pics you might provide on this board ... hm ...
I have to admit that I don't know of that "Table Top World" you mentioned .... huooom, and as for a certain barkeep being part of the set of figures I wonder which one you chose as there are 3 barlimen in the Mithril-range ... huoomm ... besides, three stories is quite a lot .... hûom ... I might give Master Milo a hint that there's an attic in the Pony as he always only cares about some breakfasts when he's in the inn ... hmmhoômmm ...

Wonderfully crafted buildings of a medieval type. They even include detailed interiors (wasted for my needs sadly). They are Croatian company originally Master Nino I think mentioned them here.
A pity they don't produce interior only kits, but who knows what may come.
Will try and get a couple of photos taken in daylight tomorrow.

One thing I never understand about this company is why they stop producing such wonderful models after so short a time. They only seem to be available for about two or three years before they disappear into the archive.

Maybe because of marketing/revenue/colecctionism issues... same reasoning on why some "limited" products sell more or at least faster than "normal" products?
Just wondering myself that.

By the way, I did not knew them and they look GREAT!!

I bought one of their windmills a couple of years ago, and it's perfect. When I went to order a coaching inn a short while later it was no longer available. Moral being, if you see something worth having, buy it immediately. Later is often too late.

Huom ... thank you Master Ddaines for the link ... huoom ... indeed after having had a look I now remember well ... hm ... excellent pieces for a diorama those were ... huoomm ... and yes, Master Thingol mentioned them once around here ...
Offline
Huom ... so now Master O'Brien confirmed that there will be no new Mithril releases in the near future ... rhuomm ... at least that saves some coiny-things at the moment ... hom ... so there's time to stroll a bit around in the garden in the sun ... huom ... maybe this evening time for a wee bowl of honey-coloured liquid here ... huomtidommm

If you want to stroll in the Pony's garden you'll need to be in the shelter of the wall. There's a bitter wind from the north at the moment.

I'll post a picture here as this is where I have raised the subject. This is a work in progress with colours just blocked in. I'm still working on the wooden batons (getting bored!!
).
If I stick to my original plans this will be a box diorama with the interior of The Pony and one other scene (probably Ringwraith attack on the room) below.
The ground will slope away from The Pony and I will try and hide the scenic backdrop with some trees which will be on the lower slopes of Bree Hill. Annoyingly, I have had for many years a small Inn sign which I painted ready to attach, but damned if I can find it!!!
I am going to have to use some artistic licence - The Pony will not be exactly as described by Prof. T, but I have added an extra floor level.
Figures in most cases are not complete and are not in their final positions; I think there are nearer 40 figures, two are PA figures sculpted by CT.
I may not get this finished in time for the April 1 deadline, but it will be an achievement just to get it finished and paint another load of figures!
.
Below shows the conversion work on The Pony.![]()

Excellent work as ever, Master Dave.

Hoooomm, that's an absolutely great concept, Master Ddaines ... huom ... the Pony-extension is a very good idea ... unfortunately I cannot see any details in the first pic, but your short description of your plans sound marvellous ... huommm ... and there will be trees in the diorama in the end? ... huôômm ... I very much appreciate that idea ... hom ...
Just keep on, Master Ddaines, and please do not forget to show us some pictures once everything is finished ... hmmm?
