The doormats will find their own way here. They'll just follow the scent of Nob.

Everything seems to be where I left it, even the Tree...

Well in case I'm not around, or just can't crawl out from under the table due to excessive consumption of Barli's 'best', I would just like to take the opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate, stay safe, stay drunk, and fill your bellies with good food.

Re: The Taproom

Well, the two Knights of Dol Amroth I ordered and the Arnorian knight arrived today.

The Arnornian knight is Gorgeous, with his Numenorean helm, mail and rearing horse.  Haven't really gawked at the Knights of Dol Amroth yet, but by the looks of things, the Arnorian knight might be worth getting again to convert into a Swan Knight. (And vice versa - turn some Swan Knights into Arnorian roquain)

Re: The Taproom

Well, I'm girding up my loins ready for the rush of holiday trade, and hope to see some of you in here again before the New Year, but in the meantime Merry Christmas to all my patrons, and I hope that your Yuletide presents include at least one Mithril figure each!

Re: The Taproom

Sorry, you have to keep the decorations on until Twelfth Night. That's the tradition. And after all, you're an Ent. Who ever heard of an impatient Ent? I think you're getting hasty as you get older!

Re: The Taproom

Is it a world to hide virtues in? Twelfth Night  Act I. Scene 3.

Well, we all know the answer here, don't we?  This last week of the year always seems like an extended holiday for many.  I wonder what 2009 will bring us on the Mithril front?

Re: The Taproom

Rhuoommm ... hard to answer your last question .... huoommmrhuoomm ... but in act five, scene one, the clown sings ... ahemmmm ... mmm ...

When that I was and a little tiny boy,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
A foolish thing was but a toy,
For the rain it raineth every day.

rhmmmm ...hmmm

But when I came to man's estate,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
'Gainst knaves and thieves men shut their gate,
For the rain it raineth every day.

ahemmm ...

But when I came, alas! to wive,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
By swaggering could I never thrive,
For the rain it raineth every day.

rhuooommmmm ... then I still recall the next quatrains ....

But when I came upon my beds,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
With toss-pots still had drunken heads,
For the rain it raineth every day.

rhuoomm ... last one now ... ahem ... mmmm

A great while ago the world begun,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
But that's all one, our play is done,
And we'll strive to please you every day.

Rhuoommmhuommmhom ... but please, Master Kenakko don't tell Master Barliman that I was singing .... huoommm ... I'm not sure if he really would like to have a nicely decorated singing Christmas tree .... huoomm

Re: The Taproom

Very nice, Master Tree. About the Twelfth Night, I mean.

And I for one enjoy the cheeriness your light-bedecked boughs provide this otherwise dim corner of the Pony.

Re: The Taproom

There's nowt dim in the Pony except Nob. And it mightn't seem so dark in that corner if you didn't wreath yourself about with such a fug, Master Ranger. I don't know what that stuff is on your pipe, but I still reckon it's Nob's shredded socks cut with powdered slurry from the yard.

And the rhyming was very nice, Master Tree. Very apt.

By the way, is anyone going to tell us what they got from the jovial fat fellow with the big sack?

Re: The Taproom

Well my friends the Knights of Dol Amroth (mounted) are now completed (99.9% anyway) and can be seen in Master Samwise's Gallery.

I don't think the scene needs too much explaining and this was what I had always imagined doing with these knights long before they were released so all has turned out well in the end. But by god am I glad I got them before the £ collapsed!!!!

Master Barliman, I take my hat off to all those who paint multi small scale figures - I hold you all in awe as my patience and enthusiasm has never been so sorely put to the test and on that note I'll also take the lock of my gold chest and dip in for drinks all round!

Am I looking forward to the Easterlings? No, not now wink

Re: The Taproom

It's probably just as well that they keep getting delayed then! I really do wonder when they'll ever appear - or are we heading towards another unreleased 'MS' range? That's a dreadful thought...
