Hi everyone !...??? nobody in the place ???
Barliman ? Nob ? Master in the dark ? where are all fellows gone ?

Still here, Master Milo - just sitting quietly contemplating the darkness (it's an art the Man in the Dark taught me).
Whilst there's someone here to talk with, what do you fellows think of the Rhudaur mercenary and King Bladorthin figures? Both excellent, so far as I'm concerned. It's very nice to see Chris finally give a figure a robust war-axe rather than the flimsy fireside tools he's tended to give them in the past. My Bladorthin will end up as King Brand, I suspect.

I agree about new releases. I am very happy with rudhaur mercenary I received. Chris has upgraded his sculpting skills (for instance, just compare new release with Haldir...). More fine details are added, more realistic faces also.
Oh, and about contemplating darkness, I prefer contemplating my meal. Cheers !

Well- my Bladorthin ( if i will receive any) will end up as King Brand, too. I fine idea, Master Barli.
(could be a templar knight also- me seems the existing of a very similar 54mm andrea "thing" somewhere . . . but that´s odd topic)
And that Rhudaur guy- so far as I can see on those tiny pics the factory uses to provide- very excellent figure!
And a quiet unique face as well.

huoommm ... I do very much agree concerning that mercenary-figure ... huom ... yes, a war-axe finally, Master Barliman, you're so much right, then all the great details, the facial expression and haircut, and the pose which is definitely three-dimensional and not that "flat" as so many other figures were before ... rhuuhûom ... I was very much satisfied after I assembled that fine piece ... huooooommm ... I cannot comment on that Bladorthin-figure because I haven't received it yet ... hmm hom

What, do you think, has led Chris to "upping his game" as we say here in Bree? I think all of his 2015 figures are, without a doubt, noticeably better than even his usual high standard.

My thoughts exactly, this Northman mercenary looks like an evolution after many years of doing the same (which wasn't bad, but it was begining to look a bit dated compared with nowadays standards).
Also, I firmly belive any kind of artist should challenge himself every time he creates, his best work should always be the next one.
For the first time in many long years I'm excited about Mithril's new releases. If only they would get rid of the damned plate armours...

What do you think David? Let´s have a Gin and Tonic here in the PP?! Like in the "old times". September last year that was, if you remember.)
Though I have doubt that this Barkeeper is neither able to provide an appropriate Gin- nor an appropriate tonic . . .

We're stuck with the plate armour for good, I fear, because Chris and/or Mithril started out relying on the Angus McBride / MERP / ICE illustrations as their source material, and seem unwilling to change the style now for fear of being inconsistent with all that has gone before. Shame.

That mercenary reminds me of why I love Mithril so much...
I won't really be able to afford new Mithrils until well into the autumn (school!) but when I do, this fellow is first on my list!

I have yet to see these figures so a quick refreshing G & T would be very welcome Chris while I search them out
I obviously need the G & T as I commented on the mercenary figure on the MM forum, but where is Bladorthin? or do I need a third to refresh the memory more so!

I may not have received it yet Milo, but will check inbox to see if accidently passed it by. I guess while I am here some breakfast may be in order!

Breakfast has obviously refreshed the eyes
, I must have skipped this newsletter. I like the KB figure and to echo previous comments there seems to be a new-life being breathed into some of these figures of late.

. . . well Master Dave, as you noticed, the Barkeeper gently ignores this G+T topic . . .
Therefore I suggest to switch over to- yes, to what?

G&T's only use is for cleaning rust off swords, as far as I'm concerned. What you really need is scrumpy - makes the eyes weater and the knees tremble.

Like the old stuff we used to drink in the Minerva (inn of high repute!!) in Plymouth's Barbican; they only served 1/2 pint at a time

I use scrumpy for cleaning the floor at home, it is just brillant for hobbit feet.

That's the good thing about my scrumpy - it's multi-functional.
