Re: The Taproom

...And clearly not enough alcohol in your bloodstream. Have a pint of scrumpy on me. It'll soon catch up with your fingers.

That's quite a range of figures in the Fellowship poll this time round, isn't it? I didn't know what to do at first, but finally plumped (no 'fatty Butterbur' jokes, please) on the ones that appealed to me the most after a lot of head-scratching (no 'baldy Butterbur' jokes, please) and by applying my usual rule of thumb: which ones could I use on a wargames table? Ironically, neither of them turned out to be my own suggestions!

Re: The Taproom

They also keep down the cockroaches.

Seemingly there might be a new M-range release in the very near future. The Man had been hoping this month, but that now looks unlikely. Still, that suggests we may not have to wait too long. Unlike the long-delayed Easterlings range, there are no horses involved, so that won't be a factor this time. I can say no more (well, I could, but I've promised not to...)

Re: The Taproom

Huooommmm ... right you are, Master Barliman ... hom ... about the problem those Easterlings  caused, maybe because of the number of horsed villains in that range ... rhuoom ...
Anyway these are good news you provided ... rhuuoooommm ... so I can guess what you're talking about ... hom ... so ... well, ahem, I've learned in Bree that you never should give a tip to the barkeep ... rhuoomm ... the only thing you can do is to invite him to share a drink ... hom .. so, what Master Barliman, would you mind to sip a bowl of clear-clean-watery-honey-couloured liquid? ... rhuoommm ... you might put that on my tap, please .... huoommm ...
tips, taps , tips, tabs ... strange language indeed ... hom ... it rather reminds me of some sounds I witnessed when I was watching the stray cats in the backyard ... huoommm

That wasn't stray cats, that was Nob hunting for rats to give the scrumpy some body (well several bodies actually, ho-ho-ho).

Re: The Taproom

ahhh .... that's good. Rhuooommmmmmmmmm.
Do you remember those days a year ago? Do you? .... huoommm ... January last year that was. Everybody was confused about the disappearance of the MMP since December 07 ... rhuoommm ... then in the midth of January a new MMP ... saw its light that still keeps shining ... gruuooommmhhh ... there was a wandering Elf who helped us all ... huoomm ...

Well, Master Barliman, if he calls in here again one day, would you please serve him one of your best liquids (not one of those rat-drenched ones, please) .... rhuoommm ...hom ...hom ... well, yes, of course you can mark it on my tap ... if you want to do so ... rhuoommm ... nice patterns you have on my tab I just witness ... rhuoommm ... but there's more space in the middle of that tap to continue your scribblings .... huoommm . ... I never ordered any burgery-thing in a bun ... huomm... not to mention that spicy sandwich dressed with some ingwer-and-mustard .... rhuoommm ... some of your tabs might be not correctly taken care of, meseems .... rhuoomm
Never mind, Master Barliman, let's hope the pleasure of staying at your premises will be shared by others, too. ....

Re: The Taproom

Well I think you also deserve a drink, Master Tree, for all your work in the Mathom House today (though I still haven't figured out how you can fit through that small Hobbit-sized door it has). And it it wasn't you who ordered the burnt thing between slices of bread, it must've been the man in the dark.

Is it really as long as a year since the old Pony closed its doors and the new place was kitted out? Doesn't time fly. And in all that time I haven't seen Nob working once. By the way, what's with this ingwer? - if you want ginger on your sarnies you'll have to be clearer than that. Nob doesn't speak Old Gothic, even if the inestimable JRRT did.

Re: The Taproom

well as I mentionned in the Mathom house Gavin, I did not receive the shield with the Mailed dwarf commander (A) from the first mw346 sale ... I just noticed that a few days ago and checked and rechecked, and no shield...

Is it a stick? Methinks it may be a joint of mutton.

Re: The Taproom

I hope it is a haunch of mutton, I think that was on the original suggestion.

I think that Tar -M is wearing sandles - I'm sure I can see toes sculpted - I'll have to sort that out and make them shoes, but other than that a couple of very nice figures.

Re: The Taproom

Have you seen that Mithril quite reduced the number of miniatures made? With Tar-Minastir and William has gone from producing 225 to 150. I suppose that all this will have its trade policy....roll

Re: The Taproom

It doesn't really surprise me. I figured they were making 225 figures because they were meant to sell out and accrue value on the collector's market (ala the MX figures). alas, a lot of the MS figures are obviously not selling too quickly. Even the wonderful Halbarad sold out because the mold broke.

So I think they are probably selling maybe 100-150 MS figures a release and then sitting around with dozens of unsold MS figures.

I personally think they should be on general release about a year after their MS release, possibly for a bit cheaper. Might shift them. So the Fellowship get to vote and have the rarer figures early, while the rest of the buying public can buy them later.

Master Barkeep!

I have just cast you eleven Prince August 32mm Elves. 7 Wood Elves and 4 High Elves. I am going to cast at least one more tommorrow, and possibly another three.

PM me a home address so I may mail you this somewhat belated gift.

Re: The Taproom

Master Theobald informed me in email that he can't reach MMP at the time being, he thought the site was down...
I'd like to know if people around here see this message by posting here smile  I saw ddaines posting in another section so I assume he has no problem, neither am I indeed... strange thing. If someone from Germany could answer so that I know if there is a DNS problem with germany (sorry for the technical details in this thread)
