well it seems the victor is now obvious, Aragorn lost again for the fourth time...
I don't think I'll resubmit it, four times in more than three years is far enough...
what pains me is that it ends with less votes than what it had first gathered, which means there are people who retracted their vote , because of what I said, or anything ? This really saddens me...
I'll ask Chris eventually if he is interested to make this character unofficially outside of the Gold Fellowship and even outside Mithril if need be.
I must be honest Turambar, for me this opportunity and this "desire" to see Elessar mounted is/was similar to a Prince Imrahil... It's just I could never afford an MX
It's not the desire to win... I don't care about who takes the credit, it's the desire to have it in the range. For you it's Easterlings, well be happy, you'll have a great Easterling horseman
Offline
You should re-submit the idea again at some point, Master Elf. I seem to recall that my Elfhelm suggestion only finally won on its fifth or sixth outing (or maybe it only seeemd that long!).
Offline
If I resubmit it , it will be in private, to Chris... The choice to have it released as a special/regular will be his... I won't put it to the community vote again... not after how this voting unfurled
but please, feel free to submit it again yourself in ten months or so when a new mounted month happens....
as a little reminder
I submitted "the Crowning of Elessar" as a vignette (when vignettes were still possible)
- january 2006 -> lost
- may 2006 -> lost
- august 2006 -> lost
- march 2007 -> lost
- sept 2007 -> lost
- oct 2011 -> lost
then with lack of vignettes i thought mounted months could be fine for something in the same "mood"
"King Elessar at the black Gate"
- july 2014 -> lost
- november 2014 -> lost
- june 2016 -> apparently lost
(well I thought it was fourth it's only third, but as Elessar as a king has been in my minde for.... TEN years now, without any success I mixed up ideas.... all in all, I've submitted Elessar suggestions 9 times, and nine times it was well places in first votes but always losing the second round...
resubmitting it? ... I'm not sure no

If all your entries lose this way you should overthink your suggestions, I suppose . . .
Concerning that illustration: the Games Workshop Box-set, which I posses once upon a time- until I found out that it do NOT fit to the mithril-style . . .
The rest parts of the chariot are inside the diorama of the the Christmas-Figure-Chieftain of mine.
Nevertheless a great illustration!!!!!! Still have the original BOX ART!
And something last: your effort in argue against that Wainrider-suggestion is amazing, Master Gildor. But for me a bit rediculous.
So sorry indeed for telling that, but that´s my oppinion and as you, I feel free to tell my oppinion.
And I am not shouting, Master Barliman, I am twittering . . .

mmh maybe you could clarify "overthink my suggestions" ?
I may be ridiculous master archer, but well, not necessarily more than when you rage out for the fact there are no easterlings released, and express your frustration about it ... well each of us has its own frustration. Yours is Easterlings and you show it, mine is Elessar and I show it
that's my feeling
Offline
. . .and I can understand you well, Master Elf.
Isn´t it the frustration that unites us . . .
Time to have a Lillet with a slice of lemon inside . . . I pay for that.

If "??????????" isn't shouting, Master Archer, I'd hate to be around when you are!
Sorry, don't serve Lillet here. No one's ever asked for it before (indeed, I'd never heard of it till today!). But then, I'm a beer and whiskey man myself.

Whisky or whiskey Mater Barliman, a new thread to uphold frustrations :-)
So please a glass of pure whisky please ...
Offline
Whiskey is the correct spelling! "Whisky" is drunk only by those who have never tasted the real thing as distilled on the Emerald Isle. The difference between Irish whiskey and Scotch whisky is in more than just the spelling - Irish whiskey is a much smoother drink. Most people don't realise it's better because when they go anywhere and simply ask for a whisky they'll invariably be served a Scotch.

If you mean by emerald Isle, the Japan and its WhiskY, I totally agree :-))

I am afraid I do not understand the meaning of that sentence, Master Barliman.

Japanese whisky sounds like a dreadful notion! I'm not sure it's something I'd like personally, but I may be wrong - their beer is rather good, especially Asaka. However, since I certainly wouldn't buy a bottle of their whisky I'll probably never find out whether or not it's any good. In which case I'll stick to Irish, I thanks!

Master Barliman, Japanese whisky are famous, some are granted being bests in the world. A shame you do not intend to have a try.
As for this month suggestion, I read some frustration here which should be settled with a good meal.
Bon appétit !

35 votes wow! Haven't seen that many in a long time! Well Master Gildor by now it seems that Chris has to decide which one he will sculpt, because it's 17 to 17 votes!

Offline
35 in second round is indeed quite surprising! well the decision resides with Chris now!
I just hope that if he chooses the wainrider he will do so as seeing this one as a challenge and a neverseen before chariot rider. Which will pleases me if it ends up this way...
If he does not and prefers Aragorn, then maybe it also means he is not inspired by this wainrider and that it may not be a bad thing that it was not chosen instead of being chosen and sculpted poorly.
well in this situation, i'm more than enthusiast about how it could end up

huoommm ... Master Gildor, why do you always think that it's only your opinion that counts and it has to be accepted by everybody else? ... rhûommm ... I was very much surprised about having to learn that last week ... huom ... in the end I'm just happy that you're not the one who has to decide about suggestions of others ... huuoommm ... fortunately never before in years of voting for new MS-figures I witnessed a campaign as yours against a competing suggestion ... grrûom ... that's why I did not react to that so far ... huom ... but having read your last entry here I had to react ... er, "a wainrider sculpted poorly", you said ... rhuoommm ... I bow my head, as you even seem to know about things that not even have seen the light ... grrrûom ... some Elves must possess the qualities of gods .... rhuom ... respect, I never knew before ... sorry ... huomm

if you have read all my previous posts about how wainriders could or should be represented you certainly know that i have nothing against the suggestion itself I even find it very interesting, but I am very very skeptical about the rendering. I don't say I am in the truth I even said that if it wins you should get guarantees the result is as you envision it.
my opinion is not the only one that counts, but if you talk about how wainrider should be represented it's not a matter of opinion it's a matter of how Tolkien himself , for the brief info we have, depicted them.
In the past, I have not been the only one to be disapointed by some renderings (there are those who don't like 2nd Age soldiers being in plate armor), other who don't like how hobbits are done, or how orcs are done, of how Mumak are ridiculously small , etc..
and to conclude that's only speculative, in my words I said "if", I said "maybe", "it may no" ? I am not omniscient.
We agree in the end master ent, in the end it's good that the decision may be taken by someone else.
Elves do not possess the qualities of god but we believe in Valar
and as such we think decisions should be taken by those ine charge, whoever they may be. debating politics is not my strongest point, but as Churchill said "Democracy is the worst of system, but we have not found abetter one"

Houm I was not here some time and I see I missed heated discussion.... cheers to you guys but I hope Chris will decide to make both figures... in some short time...
Offline
Huoomm ... I just saw that the decision for the June-Mithril-release has been made .... huom .... so, Master Gildor, congratulations for your winning suggestion .... rhuom ...
Offline
well thank you master ent, but be assured that I still consider that a wainrider would indeed be a great addition to the mithril range, though as I said I'd prefer it to be a chariot rider and if possible it would be cool to submit it this way? Either way I would support the idea !

Congrats Master Gildor. As Master Ent always reminds us, never haste, all good things happen at the end.

Master Barliman,
Please offer fresh drinks to all german people who maybe sad today.

On est en finale ! Cheers mates !

huoommm ... ah, well, Master Milo, whatever that football-thing you refer to is about, I don't think it has ever been of any importance among trees, as you might guess ... rhûom ... anyway thanks for the free drink ... huom ... but why do you say that 34 years is a long time? ...
cheers, Master Milo, and wishing you having a very nice Sunday evening, if you know what I mean ... rhúHomm ...

well if i understand correctly, Last time France won over Germany was in 1958. but next france-germany match was in 1982 and since then we have been losing against them.
34 years later, after 1982, we finally get a "revenge", even if actually we have not won against them for 58 years (but our dear master attic warden was not born in 1958
