Master Theobald informed me in email that he can't reach MMP at the time being, he thought the site was down...
I'd like to know if people around here see this message by posting hereI saw ddaines posting in another section so I assume he has no problem, neither am I indeed... strange thing. If someone from Germany could answer so that I know if there is a DNS problem with germany (sorry for the technical details in this thread)
everything works now, yesterday ot was not possible to visit your site, access failed.

ok then it may be a DNS refresh problem, not linked to the site itself but to its indexing throughout the international world wide web... everything should hopefully be solved soon if not yet

Huoooommmm .... everything's fine again though there was no contact yesterday all day .... huoommm ... Master Twrich informed me that he also faced the same problems yesterday in the USA .... hom .... strange things happen ....

I could not view the page from yesterday morning EST till, well, right now.
I checked, a lot.

well yes it was a change in their server as I was informed... the DNS update worldwide takes sometimes and well, it seems it took one entire day to replicate throughout the World Wide Web... That should be fine now, no more worries
Master Butterbur please serve a drink to all those poor anxious fellows
(NB: Wendy, I think I beat you in terms of slowness of painting )

Hmm, well my painting speed is pretty low too.
Blew up the stove/cooker the other day - after spending three hours casting Prince August figures. I had a horror that maybe some metal had gotten stuck someplace and sparked the fire. But no, it was just a random fluke incident.
No more Prince August figure casting for a while. Well, not until Sunday when no one's around. I need more Elf heads, after all.

Hoorah! I am able to get to this site!
I have tried for days with no luck, but now everything is ok.

My problem seems to be that my 'subscriptions' to the various rooms in the Pony keep failing, so that I don't know when anybody has popped in! This particular difficulty seems to come and go, but I wasn't notified of any of the above dozen or so posts! I shall have to get Nob to look into it...

Rhuooommmmmm .... it works, doesn't it? .... so why haste and panic? .... rhuooommm ...
as for you, Master Barliman, you shouldn't leave every job to Nob .... huuuooomm ... may I please have a bowl of that clear-clean water you serve, please. .... hooommm.

EVERY job? I'd be satisfied if the little woolly-foted varmint did ANY job...

I couldn't get in for two days and asked Theo if he had the same problem, which he did. Then yesterday evening he emailed me that the site was up and I got in fine.
As for William's left hand, I don't remember the original suggestion, but when I suggested him this time I asked for a large animal bone to be used as a cudgle. Convenient for a Troll . . . first you eat the meat off the bone and then you have a weapon!

Oi, I suggested William, lol, you suggested one of his mates. Too much of Barli's brew Tom, it's clouding your memory .
But truth be without looking I can't remember exactly what the suggestion was although I'm sure it involved a leg of mutton (too much of Barli's brew as well).

Hroommm ... huoommm ... same old story again ... huoommm ... some of the regulars here avoid to drink clear-clean water ... so they cannot remember what good-old William was holding in his hand .... rhuoommm ... you might re-read "There and Back Again" ... huoommm ... as far as I remember they roasted mutton (and were quite displeased to have mutton everey day) ... drinking from large mugs instead of using smaller receptacles for drinking that liquid they took from the barrel (JRRT was not very precise about the liquid) .... huoommmrhuomm ...
As far as I witness Master Barliman is serving some of that ... rhuoommm ... liquid ...hom or why else is he able to create words like "woolly-foted" (yes, it's the same one who criticised me precise language a short time ago when I used the word word Ingwer instead of ginger ...)
Then Master Twrich forgot about the second syllable of my name which is the one to characterize me perfectly ... rhuooommm ... not to mention Master Ddaines obviously having sipped some of that brew as he not even can remember what he suggested .... rhuoooommmmhom .... anyway, I like you people, you're most entertaining .... hom ... alas, once again a long explanation ... but you know ... once trees are decided they react and answer .... huooommmm ...

Laughing out loud, a voice from a dark corner (one of many, and the echoes lately make it hard to discern which one) says: "Well, I prefer my memory, even if it turns out to be wrong!"

Rhuoooommmmm .... just had a look at that GF-voting .... alas .... so 4 there are ... huommm ... out of whatever number .... grrr ...om ... 4 for 2 votes (in case you choose to give both votes at the same time - unless you don't, one vote of yours is void) .... huoommmm .... to be honest, wouldn't it be a better practice in future to have just one suggestion in the final to be voted for with .... huoommm ... let's say 3 votes per member? .... rhuoommm ... just a thought, of course .... hom ...

I haven't voted yet. Going to now

I voted for Celebrian and the female assassin

I agree with the Tree that the voting arrangements this month (well, these two months to be more exact) have been somewhat compromised - er, that's polite-speak for 'screwed up'. I don't know what Michael was thinking of! He failed to explain the voting arrangement sufficiently clearly for members to understand (it was pure chance that I placed both my votes at once), which has led directly to several people losing a vote.
Another Fellowship detail I only noticed today is that the latest two figures (William the Troll and the Egyptian pharaoh...) have only had 150 castings made, rather than the previous 250. Hmmm. Do I detect a lack of confidence at Mithril that the backlogs of Fellowship figures will ever sell? How many Fellowship members are there now anyway - does anyone know? I seem to recall someone mentioning the existence of about 200 at one point.

Still waiting for Barliman's address.
But yes, I suspect Mithril probably shifts about 100 Fellowship miniatures in the near term, and then another fifty or so in the longer term, meaning that they always have back catalogue stock of the miniatures. These things, because they are highly specific, aren't going to move as fast. As amazing as the figures are, some of the results have been odd in terms of broader appeal. The king of Numenor figure is beautiful - but how many people want to buy the king of Numenor?
Someone might, but its probably not enough someones.
Others have far broader appeal, but I suspect people who might buy, say, the Haradrim champion on war camel, would be put off by the Fellowship obligation. I suspect the better deal is that the Fellowship suggests, votes and so forth, but the results are open to all to purchase.

The prices will also inevitably put some people off (me included...) - especially since the dollar and now the pound have crashed in flames against the euro!

Mithril is learning. Look at Imrahil. Still avaiable. Only 150 casts worlwide and after all this time not sold out.
I'm sure it is worse with the fellowship figures. So why cast 250 and have 150 sitting on a shelf for years. Not very smart I believe.
Offline
Huooommmm .... yes there is a problem meseems ... huom ... the figures are not selling well .... alas, about a year ago Master Edman persuaded me to let 150 Imrahils being casted though I then was thinking about 100 castings of the regular release ... huooommm ... only have a look at the total number of GF-members which is less than 200, I think ... hom ... then only the smaller part of those is willing to buy each and every release ... rhuoommm ... so only 150 castings of a figure of the MS-range seems to be sensible, I think ... huooommmm ... but it's not my problem as long as I am able to receive all new figures .... hom
