Beregond, Bergil and Pippin, Maybe?

Click to close

I don't know if this has worked, but an experiment. Well from the preview it has - not a new image, but a test piece.

Re: Beregond, Bergil and Pippin, Maybe?

Ah, I saw that one on the Mithril site recently .... a very nice one, David ...
... and by the way did you keep that pic of the Ent that was used for the avatar on the old MMP? I think I remember correctly that it was you who painted the figure the photo was taken from ...

I'm not sure if that was my Ent, but I can post a picture of some plus I have still to finish off the Trumpeting Ent.

Well here is a scene done many years ago which is my rendering of Eomer slaying Ugluk. You'll note that the shield is not exactly bearing the White Hand, but........

I don't think this has appeared on the Mithril site so I hope you enjoy. wink

I have to say this new site is becoming a pleasure to work with especially the ease with which images can be loaded.

Re: Beregond, Bergil and Pippin, Maybe?

(yup ddaines but maybe you should change the name of the thread... it is not really "beregond bergil and pippin" anymore don't you think? smile

To change a thread name, nothing easier : you simply have to edit the first post (which is possible only for moderators of the forum or for the original poster) and change the title of the first post... since it is the first post, it will change the title of the thread itself . Well it should smile

As a side note, could you please all check back the first picture (beregond bergil and pipin) and click it to see the little effect for picture displaying that I added. I hope all of you have access to it, it is javascript and should be supported but almost all recent web browsers.

I have switched the way the code is generated in the upload image section so for future posting you won't see the difference, just copy paste the code given to you by the upload module. As for the already posted pics, well if you want I can edit them all to switch them to the new display system.

Thanks for your comments on this

I clicked on it and I assume it worked as you say - a small icon then the picture expands (something like that?).

Re: Beregond, Bergil and Pippin, Maybe?

yup, something interactive... it puts a little blank screen, expands the pictures on top of the page which is blurred black on the background, and you have a close button on bottom right.

I thought it may be smoother and less attractive than simply load another page with the need to click the 'last page' button of the browser.  Do you like it?

I like the way it opens the pics!

Re: Beregond, Bergil and Pippin, Maybe?

maybe I'll  try to add this feature to the mithril database as well, though it may prove quite a bit more difficult in this case...we'll see

so if you like it, we can switch the existing pictures to the new system... I will try to edit every message.

Re: Beregond, Bergil and Pippin, Maybe?

well, I checked it out and... definitly not a good option for the database pictures....
this feature uses the dimension of the active page as a background. If the page is screen wide that's fine, but in the case of character sheets, it is a strict dimension little window. and it would mess up with the javascript display...So we'll keep it the way it is.

Having a problem loading at the moment I get a fatal error message, so I will try again later and you will have to be patient to see some images of th Corsair ship! (as posted in the Pony)

The graphical functions are back to normal master ddains (and all of you)  You can once again go and upload pictures , and my database is working again!

Happy to hear this. Now I might be able to upload some more conversions.

Well this is how the two ships look together (not necessary in that configuration), I'll post some more to give an idea of scale. You can just make out the grey dots that are Mithrils. big_smile

And the 'Crusader Cog' by Zvelta (something like that) which is actually a very nice kit in its own right and although 1/75th scale looks just about right for Mithrils. Any tips on Gondorian navy types - who, where?
