Re: The Taproom

Rhhuuooommm .... you see, Master Twrich, that's why I prefer to drink that clear clean watery liquid in these premises .... huom ... though sometimes the colour of that water surprises me ... hommmm ... anyway, maybe it's because of the temperature that this fluid has become a bit fluffy .... rhuoommm .... who knows?

Re: The Taproom

Master Innkeeper, could someone keep the doorway clear of snow;I had to enter through the window and I fear I may have to exit by the upstairs window if there is no let up in this fell winter.Perhaps the master caster would consider sharing some of his abundance from down under.

Actually, Master Regalrick, most of my customers leave via the window.

Re: The Taproom

Very interesting indeed. The coldest winter in Germany for over 100 years and the hottest summer in Australia for over 100 years.
Who trades snow for heat??? I'm sure Melburne with up to 45 C would welcome some snow.

Re: The Taproom

If you live in a sub-Arctic zone you have to expect the weather to be occasionally, well, sub-Arctic. If you don't, there's a tendency to think that a light snowfall barely sufficient to cool a Hobbit's toes is a big deal. It's also a good excuse for trains to run late (whatever 'trains' are...). But then, I gather that anything is a good excuse for trains to run late. Happily we don't have them in Bree.

Personally the annual standstill that this country suffers from is pathetic when put against real hardship and real cold weather experienced by other countries and is an embarrassment.

I have spent a few winter 'holidays' in a past life enjoying the minus whatever temperatures of Norway and although they do have an (almost) guaranteed heavy winter and therefore the proper equipment to deal with it, 10' snow drifts didn't seem to phase them in the slightest!

In fairness because the winters in some parts of the country do not warrant the buying and maintenance of fleets of snow clearing equipment I guess it is a case of cost, but hey, we get caught out every year.

Breetish Rail Barli, you would never get any customers here on time but I suppose Master Theobald could look after the 'branch' line to Buckland. smile and keep all the leaves off the tracks (my other favourite delay).

Anyhow to bring this back on track if the Fellowhip had had a decent snow plough they could have avoided Moria altogether!! wink

Re: The Taproom

I believe where Gavin and fellow Northmen live  10cm of snow is classified as a" light dusting";something I don't think the Pony has had any fear of attaining.

Think of the bad and long winter, when the white wolves came over the Brandywine....

Huoooommmm .... strange it is, Master Barliman. So you fed those wolves with your burgers-in-a-bun but ask your customers to give coiny things for them? .... huooommm .... anyway, I don't like that stuff at all .... hom

Re: The Taproom

Is there no one out there, who wants to suggest another Witch King figure in the Mithril forum?? lol
Maybe a w.k. with his left hand rising and right and in his pocket or so. tongue
O.k., I am a little bit too sarcastic, but what do you think of last 2 month's votes?
Celebrian is very very fine and most of the new suggestion of this month are beautifull. But a W.K. again??
If Chris is not creating an absolute masterpiece or a small diorama, I surely will need some motivation to buy this figure early.

Re: The Taproom

Alas, master Estel, I think that the W.K won this run only by lack of other suggestions for 2nd turn...
Many people did not want to see a Dol Amroth female assassin or a female orc I think... so it's not that they voted for the WK... it's because they did not want to vote for the other choices...

(same as in politics sometimes smile )

Re: The Taproom

It certainly swayed my voting. Still, at least no one has suggested another Witchking this month ... so far. Seriously, I'm sure we must have had about as many variations on the Witchking theme as it is possible to have by now - unless one of my patrons knows better?

In the meantime, I keep hoping for the announcement of another 'M' range - The Man says that the factory has had the masters for three months now...

Re: The Taproom

That´s a long time, I have to say that. Hoping this point of politics mentioned above by Master Gildor won´t have an influence . . .
By the way, a female assassin . . . tongue  it would have been better to have voted . . .

Re: The Taproom

So Celebrian won (at last)

Another figure for my Rivendell diorama (whenever I get around to starting it).

I'd have gone for the female assassin, but I am a total MERP zombie big_smile

I didn't make a suggestion this month. Instead I'll vote for either Wendy's or Estel's suggestion.

Lets guess what we are missing....

The Witchking as King of Humans (at the time of his acceptance of the ring)
The Witchking as Lord of Angmar
The Witchking in his early years (wearing diapers)

There's the Witch King as nothing - just rumpled up clothing on the fields of Pelennor.
