Hello Mithril Nautes !
I am coming to the end.

Overall, it is for example the rendering that I wanted to achieve and be able to place those realizations next to that of Jacques.
I let you judge the coherence of the whole.

Hi Thingol,

Thanks for the comments wink

I saw something about the new project of Chris Tubb to create his own marque.

Could you tell us more ?

Re: Project TMM 2020

I can tell that there are many excellent figures among them. - The "name" of many figures (or sets) are intentionally put somehow unprecise as Chris Tubb did not want to have any trouble with "certain licenses" also Mithril had to agree to( and still has to, I think.). Many of the Phaeton Design figures are based on Tolkien's work. Christopher Tolkien was very strict with licenses. So Chris simply avoided trouble.
I'm really glad to have all of those figures. I do really like the figures referring to Shakespeare's "Tempest". Wonderful. I intend to use a Miranda-figure for a Goldberry (contemplating at a river) in a small diorama. I think that would be better than the one released by Mithril.
Well, to be honest I'm really not convinced at all that the "PhaetonDesign"-project will ever be revived or even extended.
Unfortunately.

Re: Project TMM 2020

Hi Fabrice... this is part of the e-mail Chris sent me two weeks ago

.... " I will let you know as soon as the website is up and running.I have also started to revamp some of the original Phaeton series digitally so am pleased that you say there is still some interest in this".

So I do not know which one oft he figures from his old web site he will produce again, but we will know it soon...

Have a good day...

Thank you Master Thingol for sharing with us !

Mithril Maniac Trophy + Mithril Convention, with the incredible collection of Christophe + Chris Tubb at ODO 2022, wouldn't that be fabulous ?

Re: Project TMM 2020

Hello Mithril Nautes!

Gerold offers us some splendid projects with these warbands. An idea came to me, maybe already mentioned by yourself on MMP ?
The creation of a chess game with the Mithril range !

There are so many possible combinations ! I await your proposals, pawns, riders, queens, kings ... surprise me, make me dream and I commit to painting a piece of the most astonishing set where, even better, we can all together constitute a virtual set composed of photos of the figurines already painted ?
What do you think ?

46 pieces, for 690€ that makes 15€ each figure considering some are quite rare, well I suppose it is fair... smile

Re: Project TMM 2020

Here is my first draft, with characters only chosen from the "Lord of the Rings" who will represent the white camps.
Will come later, that of the blacks, The Mordor...
M 298 King Elessar and Queen Arwen (of course).
For the madmen, Gandalf M 52 and Radagast M 84.
There are several versions of Gandalf but this one remains my favorite. This is the first outing, the one that indelibly permeated my retinas.
The riders, those of Rohan, M260, King Théoden and M 262 Eomer.
The towers, an eagle and an ent and not just any ! Meneldor (M 304) and Fangorn (M185).
For the pawns, I did not wish to expose the Hobbits and the rest of The Company, so I threw my evolutions on soldiers.
Gondorians, Rohirims, Elves. Lancers, archers, swordsmen.
Here they are: M7; M 14; M 68; M 197; M 213 ; M 214 ; M 263 and M 386.
Now that I'm ready, I can hire ! E2-E4!
It's up to you, gentlemen ! wink

Re: Project TMM 2020

I feel an elf Lord is missing in the strong ones. Lady Galadriel M1 instead of Radagast who is more the Hobbit related?
What about Tom Bombadil?😇

Re: Project TMM 2020

Difficult choice for Tom Bombadil, I thought about it of course. For Galadriel M1, I assume. I plan to use it for another chessboard.

Re: Project TMM 2020

Hello Mithril Nautes,
I would like to share my enthusiasm with you here.
I discovered on Mithril.ie the work of a painter who calls himself Celebrimbor_forge. A nice slap in the face smile
Just like what Elroy has done, we can see some magnificent saynètes and dioramas. It seems to me that the author is French, which gives me hope that I might be able to admire his work at the ODO 2022, at the TMM !
I wish you a nice day.
