Re: The Taproom

Man o man o man!!!  A half-orc with axe,  perfect for the fight at the Fords of Isen where Theodred fell.  These are going to complement the unreleased half-orc warband nicely!   I like the more "militia" feel to the Rohir equipment.

These figures are everything the LT helm's deep figs should have been.  JMHO:Dbig_smilebig_smilebig_smile
Better save myself some coinage of the realm for these!roll

Re: The Taproom

The LT Helm's Deep figures aren't terrible. They are a bit uninspired and they were sold without the undercoat and so on, and don't seem to get much love from Mithril, but I think together with this range they'll make a nice set.

Presto: I agree to you completely ! Fantastic job by THE MAN !

PS: " Oh My Gosh "  -isn´t that a song from Basement Jaxx !?

Maybe the magic was the most powerful force in the world. But that was long ago.

Re: The Taproom

mmmhh do you think I could ask Michael to Already give me info concerning the number and kinds of parts of each reference so I can begin filling the database for this forthcoming series?

I wonder if they have an idea yet they may not be casted for retail so far and only exist as masters?

Re: The Taproom

These looks great!  I'm still slogging through my Hobbit set big_smile but some day I will start collecting some more figs.

Are most of you in the Gold Fellowship?  I'm a bit confused by reading the Mithril site, but this means that you can buy the new fig released each month as voted by the members - right?  Are there other perks?

Re: The Taproom

Gildor, if you get the newsletter each time in your email, this one has the numbers for the first series. It starts with M509 Gamling the Old.

Check it out.

George: you have to be part of the Gold Fellowship to buy any of those figures, as far as I know.

Re: The Taproom

And in other news...

I've started a new section in the Court of Ardor:

MERP Sample Characters

This will be a small database of sample MERP characters based on or inspired by Mithril figures.

I rewrote the MERP character generation rules slightly for a future article for the Guild Companion. The idea was to make the horribly scattered rules in the MERP 2nd Ed corebook a bit simpler and more coherent. The eagle eyed will note two minor changes. The first is that Intuition is now Wits. Why? Removes the annoying problem of confusing Intelligence and Intuition in short form. The second is that power points are now called Will. The idea is that instead of everyone getting some spells, everyone gets a Will score, which works as Fate Points ala Rolemaster 2.

Of course none of this will make the faintest bit of sense to someone whose never played MERP, so you lot just not and smile big_smile

The first up is M447

Re: The Taproom

well yes master jdbrown..; but I was talking about the number and kinds of parts for EACH figurine (I mean, weapons, shields, arms... all the separate parts for a given reference, in quantity and kind)

A great toast to Gildor and give him some of the very best ales in here!!
The folk will know, why (it is because of something small, cast in lead for the ones who are slow in mind lol ).

A toast to Gildor, wisest of the Elves!!

Re: The Taproom

well, i wouldn't say the LT series is terrible, just a bit, thin.  Like too little butter stretched over too much bread, as the hobbits say.  From first glance, these figs look like they uphold the fine work that Chris is capable of and I have come to enjoy and, dare I say, expect, from Mithril releases.

This is well posed, Master Presto. I would like to add that a lot of more passion is been feeled instead of the LT-serie.
@ estel: I follow your wishes concerning Master Gildor !

Re: The Taproom

you will notice that the pose of one of the rohirim (i don't know if that's the proper word in english.. their physical behavior let's say) is copied from the Aragorn fighting orcs in the Chamber of Mazarbul series (M281) smile  (except for an axe) and the half-orcs are directly inspired from the unreleased MW346 (which means that those among us who are lucky enough to have those half-orcs will be able to create really great armies or dioramas smile
