Re: The Taproom

oh yessss, my precious,

the new M-series is fabulous! As this is only part 1 of several Helms Deep figures to be released, I asked myself, if there would ever be a chance to see some Isengard Uruk-Hai and torchbearers and large Dunlending warriors with 2-handed weapons and maybe some other stuff...
The new Helms Deep figures are for me the reason to love the designs of C.T. so much- no mass-product for simple folk, but pieces worth to be collected.

Yes, Master Estel, you are not wrong, these guys are really great. Especially the new shield I love!

Re: The Taproom

Well, Master Caster, if you recall the Dunlending Cheftain from the LT series has a similar shield too. I forget which number he is.

You are right Marshall of the Mark.
The LT12 : Dunlending Chieftain has a similar shield.
Thank you! I missed that! I guess I have to find a LT12 now too...smile

Re: The Taproom

One of the shields appears to have a little motiff above and below the hand, can't quite make it out though.

These really do look good figures and I can't wait.

Well I've finally started to work on some Mithril's again - A Long Expected Party, and converting some Mithrils (respect Holger - I'm getting fed up with doing only three figures) for sitting in the elven boats as they leave Lorien, but as I've managed to stick my fingers together with superglue (didn't work on the metal though!!!) I've decided to call it a night hmm

Any sign of the Inn-keeper?

Re: The Taproom

It's lovely.

I suggest Master Christophe purchases the Gildor Inglorion diorama and include the elf someplace in the background.

And in other news...we have acquired yet another cat. We think its the brother of the two kittens we found last summer. He's so starving. Feeding him up and hopefully going to find a home for him...

Which one am I? Am I the one with the blond hair playing cards?

Great diorama and great that it has been a year!

Re: The Taproom

Hi rita.de

Although I usually prefer to be by myself and in a dark corner, I certainly recognize myself as the second on the left. You did a great job on my pipe! (of course, any other pipe-smoking ranger might think that figure was them).

This must be a picture at your first Mithril anniversary party!

But be careful, who is the hooded figure listening at the rear on the right?

What  a great diorama--I look forward to your next project.

Re: The Taproom

I had the luck to see another pic of the forthcoming 10 regular mithril range... (it was , well... some weeks before Michael announced them) Well they are really great, all of them, Gamling too though we already had a Gamling .... I don't have authorization to display this pic so you'll have to wait sad  but it's worth the time smile

Re: The Taproom

And after I have heard, that HE himself has designed and cast some small lead things, a
VERY GREAT TOAST to C.T.!!

I cannot imagine, that an artist was as close as this MAN to his fans.

THANKS!!

An a round for the few still in here.

Cheers.

Re: The Taproom

well Chris is also a caster though he does not have enough time to make mass-castings and it's up to Dan Joe to do this if I remember well, Also, the fact he is a caster is a bonus because he knows how to design the figurine in an optimal way for a perfect casting... (which reminds me that may be why he was quite upset with the fact the knights of dol amroth were casted in a single piece as it was not meant to be so by him)

and a round for the man then smile

Re: The Taproom

also other news... though I don't know if I am to tell you about it but I did not receive any non-disclosure requests...

The Helm's Deep "theme" is supposed to be made of 5 sets at all (that's not definitive though it may be less)
part 1 is Gamling's rally
part 2 is supposed to be "death to the strawheads" and it is already sculpted by Chris, he is now working on part 3
part 3 is supposed to be a lot of orcs... including those with explosives...
part 4 & 5 , we don't know yet

the Destroyer of Dwarves (PM2) should have been finished by Easter, but I received no news about it recently, but well it should appear soon.

Well that's all for now... I hope I did not disclose any "secret" info, but I thought it was meant to be said to collectors somehow though all of this is unofficial so I don't think we could discuss it with Michael or on the official boards as nothing has been said and may still be changed

Re: The Taproom

It seems that these 3 or even more sets develop themselves to a really great thing.
Remember the time of the first announcement: some people, including myself (!), critisized a kind of recurrence.
And now: What a marvellous idea! Can´t wait to see them all. Fantastic !
Such a plan of more sets concerning one theme has never been realised in mithril´s last 20 years!
The incredible Mr.Tubb and mithril has surpassing all expectations !
I know by now that these sets will blast all my diorama-space-capacities !

PS: and thanks fellows for the compliments . . .

Re: The Taproom

All I know is that the full "theme" is supposed to make it possible to re-create a quite detailed version of the full battle of Helm's Deep.... that's the purpose... (I suppose it will have to include LT figurines, and even maybe the unreleased half-orcs as well for originality) but about other personnalities I do not know
