Re: The Taproom

well thanks for your answers smile

Btw the man asked me for details and suggestions for Arvedui (he is currently working on him already!) So I gave him all the informations gathered here . The palantir... the Elendilmir, the strong emotional notion of "loss"  etc...
I hope that with all the details provided, this will be a great figurine to remember!

I'm sure someone suggested Haldir before I did.  Perhaps it was a vignette.  Regardless, the important part is that he is being made, so a toast for the voters.  smile

Huoommmm .... Master Gildor, the Christmas Isildur 1993 was primed; I can confirm .... huoom ... but now there seems to be a "smaller brother" of that figure as a second "bonus-figure" in some future ... hoomm ... we'll see ...

Re: The Taproom

A voice from a dark corner of the current edition of the Pony where we reside says:

I have news from the man, who has been very busy indeed lately. He has completed the Female Assassin of Dol Amroth and states that he is "quite please how the assassin turned out . . . ." I know some are not so thrilled by a non-canon figure, but Chris is usually very understated in his praise of his own work. I suspect that this will be an incredible figure!

Nob, another ale, please, and a little weed for my pipe!

Talking of which (meeting up) Master Halbarad II (Harald Wolf) and myself met up in London last week for a bottle of 'Vino' in London's oldest wine bar, so it just goes to show the world is a small place when it comes to Mithril collecting (Harald will post photos in due course I'm sure). It was nice to meet a fellow collector (and his Mother) and chat about Mithril's.

Well, hello everyone! It has been a while since I have been here, so have patience for me as I have to read all of the postings!hmm

I have been super busy and really sick, so I am far behind. I haven't even got to vote on the GF at all either.sad
Speaking of that, great win with Haldir! (Will have to check which other ones have come and gone too.)

Re: The Taproom

Glad I am to hear you're well now, Master Marshal, though if you want to stay that way I suggest you don't eat any of the bar snacks. Nob made them. The ale and scrumpy, on the other hand, will fortify you no end - indeed, there isn't a living bacterium that would dare to come within ten paces of my scrumpy.

I just looked it up. First mention of Haldir was October 2005, by shadowspan1.

Anyway, it will be good to seem him in our incarnation of Tolkiens world.

Re: The Taproom

Hi everyone...

I really, really need to get back to painting. It's been close to a month since I last painted anything. It's a pretty bad sign. Too much other crap going on, and I don't feel terribly settled.

Of course I paint to feel settled, so there's obviously a problem there smile

On other fronts, I am making some slow progress with the novel and screenplay. Wish I could make more progress, but hopefully things will pan out.

Today, though, I must paint, and having painted I will feel good writing. And all shall be well.

Gavin

Re: The Taproom

I hope you have a great time painting Gavin!  You're right - it can be very therapeutic..

If you don't mind sharing, what sort of novel are you writing?  Have you already written other novels or stories before this?

George
