Re: The Taproom

Curious about M357 (Rose Gamgee and Goldilocks).

Was it just playfulness on Mr. Tubbs' part to have a Goldilocks character?  And where are the "three bears?"

No, Master OA, Goldilocks is genuine JRRT - see the last chapter of LOTR!

Re: The Taproom

Thank you Barliman!  I found one paragraph that mentions Goldilocks.  But it doesn't say who she is.  Do you know who she is?  Is she a hobbit child?  Whose child?

Once upon a time I would have known this without looking. But alas, my crest has fallen and I've been drinking local water and not sleeping for three years straight. Some days I have legitimate concerns about how to spell my name big_smile

Re: The Taproom

Theobald - I knew it was you and Mr. Tubbs!  big_smile  Great job on that!

That's odd about it being sold out.  I got mine pretty quickly.  Maybe I ordered the last one!

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... indeed the last one, Master OriginalAragorn has now been sold... huoomm .. alas ... by now all of the old MXes are sold out .... rhuoomm ... that selling has nothing to do with me ... it was left up to The Company to do that ... huoommm ... I can imagine of some Frumgars being left somewhere ... well, I dunno ... rhuuooommmmhuom ....
Anyway .... huoommmrhuuooommmhom ... to be honest ... this year I just wanted to top the Imrahil-MX ... rhuooommmmhuom ... keep fingers crossed that the moulds will hold .... gruuoohhhmmm  ... huoomm ... they will, and about this I am very sure ... rhuoommm ... just believe a tree .... sometimes, if you like to do so ... rhuoommm

Wow - I'm very lucky to have gotten the last Imrahil model!  lol

Master Ent, your riddles are most enticing!  Do you know of some place where I might procure a Frumgar model?

Re: The Taproom

Having just received the newsletter, I am pleasantly surprised that the magnificent Dwarven 'throng' is less than I expected it to be, I may just throw caution (and good sense) to the wind and grab it in  a 'one'er'. Still expensive, but we knew that, but I had dreaded it being over the £200 barrier.

I just hope the £ creeps up against the Euro before the release date.

Re: The Taproom

The price is more than fair. As everybody determined: there are 15 miniatures AND assecoires.
So, it´s up to you, collectors . . .

Re: The Taproom

A very fair price indeed, the bumper MX looks, but it's still more than I can afford at this time of year  (with Yule approaching and all, and Mrs B, Nob, Bob and the cat expecting gifts), so I shall have to hope the set remains available for a while, at least until you lot all settle your bar tabs so that I can afford it!

Re: The Taproom

Rhuuuooommmhom ... the price for a single MX-figure is ... huoomm ... alas ... high, so to say ... rhuoomm as for 15 MX-figures it is 15 times higher than that ... huoomm ... some accessoires were needed ... well, then there had to be a sufficiant base ... gruoohhummm ... alas ... huoommm ... I think the result is more than sufficiENT ... huoommm ... to me it's Master Chris Tubb at his best ... so let's have a toast on him here ... hoommm

Re: The Taproom

The set price is quite attractive, no doubt!, Mainly due to the exclusivity of the whole. All this makes us happy to collectors, however, I also thought arises. This set costs 180 € (15 figures to  12€ each, even less, if we consider the base and accessories). At that price must be "profitable" in economic terms. Then, why the other single figures MS cost  19.95€? The way marketing is the same (only GF members) and the number is also similar (the latest MS only produced 150 units)....roll
But anyway, regardless of everything, I'm happy with the price of this wonder! big_smile

Thanks, Master Theobald and thanks, Mithril! smile

Rhouuoommhuomm ... why calculate ... I really cannot cope with that ...as trees do not calculate, or even try to intervene the lives of other beings ... we just stand still and await ...
or even die ... but sometimes trees notice the presence of ideas ... rhuoomm ... that's when they start to act and try to support .... rhuoommm ...
