Rhuuoommmm ... don't haste, Master Ddaines ... I think it will be late February when you might have to spENT your coiny things on those fifteen figures ... huoomm ... 13 of them are Dwarves .... I think that's why the vignette is not too expensive ... see, Dwarves are much more smaller than trees ... huoommm ... so there's less metal being needed, they fit into any glass-cabinet ... they're just handsome, you know .... just imagine a vignette of one of our Enthings ... no, just kidding, of course ... huoommm ...

Re: The Taproom

I think the Unexpected Party is priced very fairly, and don't doubt that Chris helped to keep the price down. In addition to that, the Dwarves and Master Baggins are smaller figures and furniture isn't that hard to sculpt, although it adds to materials cost.

Speaking of Frumgar, I also wonder what happENT to the rest of those.

mmh, there is a 25% off Box Sets. Maybe it is a good idea to focus on that Scatha . . .

Oh, I forgot, there are also new pictures of forthcoming releases: the Angmar Halftroll and the Bonus Figure: Isildur.
The Man is also a professional photographer . . . wink

Re: The Taproom

The Angmar 'half-troll' is a very nice figure (even if he isn't canonical JRRT!) - but does anyone have any idea how tall he is? - I mean, is he man-tall, or olog-hai tall, or troll-tall, or somewhere in between?

Re: The Taproom

I am trying to give you an answer, Master Barliman: it is easy to come to the conclusion, that the size of the "old" half troll- the M149- could be the orientation.
But I suppose, the new halftroll is sized more according to Dagohir- the 443.
And yes, it IS a very nice figure. You should have thought about that . . .
Never thought to by him, but I certainly will . . .

Re: The Taproom

25% off is awesome!  I can't decide between Smaug the Dragon Triumphant, Lord of the Nazgul, Scatha, or the Oliphaunt!!  Or maybe two of them.  Decisions!!!

Since I don't have to pay VAT, I can get Smaug or the Mumak for about 30 Euros each.  smile  Lord of the Nazgul or Scatha will only be about 20 Euros each.

Re: The Taproom

Seriously, friends - I'm seeking advice.

Out of the 4 boxed sets I listed, does anyone really love any particular one of these?  Are there any that you just loved to assemble and paint?

Smaug looks fantastic on the website.  How is it in person?  The Mumak looks a little "stiff" on the website, but maybe it looks wonderful once it's painted.  Is Lord of the Nazgul as fun to paint as it looks?  How about Scatha?

Just looking for some help to inspire my decision!

Thanks in advance.

George Aragorn

Re: The Taproom

the mumak is a bit "raw" in its conception and I don't like it a lot. No matter how you paint it, it can't be very subtle and lack "behavior" or details...
Scatha is not bad but a bit nude too...

Honestly, The lord of Nazgul and Smaug Triumphant were a great pleasure to build and pant for me, there are tons of details you can work on both on the creature but also and mainly on the base and accessories (treasures, dead corpses, Theoden fallen or Merry hiding), and they both manage to display "personnality" and feelings (like Eowyn or the very head of Smaug Triumphant) ... I really like them...
