Christoph, you need to sort the 'Red-eye' on your camera big_smile - very nice paint up of the orc wink I alsways had a liking for those orcs from the early series.

Barli I need to settle my tab (if I have one) as we shall be off for a couple of weeks so I want to go with a clear concious - this means I shall miss the second round vote, but congratulations to the winner anyway, may the best orc, man, wizard or eagle win!

Re: The Taproom

Gildor and Christoph!  Thank you so much for your advice.  Holger also suggested Lord of the Nazgul on Facebook.

Here are my two options I'm considering (keep in mind that I also need to start building up my fellowship figures, since I have none):

Option 1 (total, including shipping is 70 euros):
-Lord of the Nazgul Boxed Set
-MS532
-MS533

Option 2 (total, including shipping is 75 euros):
-Smaug the Dragon Triumphant set
-Lord of the Nazgul set

So, do I take advantage of 25% off sale and get two boxed sets, or do I just buy one boxed set and start building my fellowship collection?

Oddly enough, I have purchased two of the MX figures (Imrahil and Frumgar) but no fellowship figures.

You guys are probably thinking: "Christ, man!  Make up your mind!"

Sorry for printing out my stream of thinking on this.  I'm looking for advice!  big_smile

Thanks,
GV

Re: The Taproom

Yes, George, this is exactly what everybody thinks . . . big_smile
I would certainly takes the offer. It is only for the rest of this month. The Box Sets are still in production, but I can´t remember when mithril gives an offer on them.
The fellowship figures will still be there. Also in three months. I think you won´t hurry up for those.
So- no doupt in taking the right decision . . .
PS: you got also that Frumgar ?!  A lucky man you are . . .

Re: The Taproom

Well, my wife has told me "no mas!" after I told her I've spent $210 on Mithril this month!  She told me no more figures for at least 30 days.

But it was a nice week!
1)  Frumgar
2)  Galadriel prototype
3)  Smaug the Dragon Triumphant
4)  Lord of the Nazgul box set

I'm eagerly awaiting some pretty packages!

Geez - collecting is fun! big_smile  But expensive!  neutral

Re: The Taproom

George, I think you made the best choice. Smaug and the Lord of the Nazgul are main characters, with Scatha and the Mumak secondary. Time enough to collect those later.

Re: The Taproom

Did everybody noticed the current examples of this month´s  vote?! There is also Gwahir, who I give an absolutely preference ( although MY suggestion of that easterling archer flew somewhere . . . ), BUT did everybody remember the day on March 4, 2008 ?!
It was honourable Master Caster tries unsuccesfully to give another MX a chance. Unfortunately at this point of time I have never heard anything of MMP . . .

Re: The Taproom

well, you remember ccertainly that a pic was posted with a Gandalf astride this eagle... and actually this idea was my last "mounted suggestion" (not the current one, the former one) on GF forum ... but this was rejected... because too big for a MS "mounted"...

anyway, I will be happy with a gandalf/gwaihir version no matter if the wings are not spread...

Lately on the suggestions I have the feeling that the "mood" is rather oriented towards wargaming mostly... All those standard bearers.... If they are not for armies and wargamine purposes I really wonder why so many standard bearers are needed... I know I may be alone to think that and I may upset some people, but for me, standard bearers are not useful... Besides this contributes to make the MS suggestion too "army/military" oriented...
Lady Celebrian was a good refreshment in the range.... I wish there were more like this one...

I absolutely agree, the lady is precious. The "nameless soldier" trend for MS is getting somewhat tiresome.

Re: The Taproom

Eagles what great creatures!
The wings spead.... gliding through the air.......
Hmm I'm working on it.
So far the eagles sculpted by the man, for my taste, are missing to much detail.
On the other hand, what Chris is sculpting at the moment is amazing in detail. Maybe I should go for Gwahir...

Re: The Taproom

on the other hand master Holger, C.T has not sculpted a lot of eagles and it was LOONG ago... it clearly appears that his craftmanship has gained a lot of details and prowess in the last years... a "new eagle" COULD prove absolutly wonderful, with wing details... and "unregular" really textured surface...

Re: The Taproom

Can someone tell me why MS437 is the only "Sold Out" fellowship figure on the Mithril website?  Did they under-produce it, or was it in high demand above the other fellowship figures?

Re: The Taproom

a VERY high demand and a great great success... at that time the batch produced was a bit small and I heard the mould got an accident?

Maybe a future M16... if not already

Re: The Taproom

Don't you hate moulds with accidents.... I do if it happens to my moulds and to moulds I didn't buy a mini from.sad

Well, so far I only have seen one on ebay, but a lot of the M16's....
