Yes, I was wondering what was meant by that as well.

Perhaps I could prevail upon you to paint my scrumpy barrels, Mistress Wendy, then I could claim that I serve de luxe beverages. That way they might taste even better - especially if some brush cleaner should happen to slip into the brew.

Re: The Taproom

Huuoooommmmmrhuooommmm .... you see, I think there's a problem ... huoomm ... let me try to explain, please ... hommm
so once you open this 'Prancing Pony' board .... rhuoommm ... alas ... you will get confused immediately .... huoommrhuoomm ... I'm sure ... so I think we need some help from Master Gildor to distinguish 'The Tabroom' from all those other sub-boards you find here ... hom ... know what I mean? ... alas, well, I'm a bit old, you know ... rhuoommm ... but some of you might still remember the 'old MMP' Master Mithrandir once provided ... hom ... there was only a thread called 'The Prancing Pony' for sitting together and having a talk or a nip (the Man in the Dark seems to be asleep again) ... see? ... all these boards and sub-boards of other boards do not make life easier, methinks ... rhuoommm ... for those who are used to this place ... nice to have you back here, Mistress Wendy ... there's no problem ... huoommm ... but what about those who come to this site first? ... rhuoomm ... helpless, or maybe having to spend about a month (which is not much, of course) reading all those sub-boardy-things to know where they are ... rhuoommm ... just thoughts, of course, just thoughts ... hoom of a different matter .... but I had to provide them ... rhuoomm ... and to provide them I had to choose this very place ...
rhuoommmhooommmm ... talkative again I was a bit, though I tried to cut all this short .... hom
now this throat of mine has become dry, so Master Barliman, could you please ... ahem ... try to change that? ... giving me a ... huom - (cutting it even shorter) ... large bowl of water, please?

Interesting video is that Michael has put on the website Mithril wink

Especially for those who are not good with photography, as I

Re: The Taproom

Haven't seen it yet myself, so can't comment at the moment.

As for the other burning issue, Master Tree, I'm not sure I entirely agree. My own view is that it's useful to have the sub-boards, if only to prevent the Pony from getting too crowded - and to make it easier to find particular strands of thought without having to plough (or plow, if you're of a transatlantic persuasion) through a heap of other musings. Or have I misunderstood your own train of thought, Master Tree?

In the meantime I'll top up your bowl (do you want it with paint-astripper, or without?). And if the Man in the Dark has woken up yet I'll get him a drink too. On me.

Re: The Taproom

I have to agree with master Barliman here...

though we could easily, one day say "the taproom is closing, we're opening a new one" (to be used as an archive and start again at page 1...) the fact there are several categories and section clearly allows for information display.

Mithrandil forum was not a true forum in the sens it did not allow as many subjects as here... besides, if someone really wants to find information on a forum, there is, like in any forum, a search module to find threads talking about special words...

Re: The Taproom

Huoooommmmmm ... you both convinced me ... huomm, so I better stand aside with that bowl, without that paint-stripper, please, Master Barliman ... huom ... you might better use it to improve the taste of that scrumpy-liquid, I think .... rhuooommm

Re: The Taproom

I've already tried it - it tends to make the scrumpy a bit too alcoholic, it that's possible.

I've taken a look at the video now, and to be absolutely honest, I found it boring! I was hoping it would do more than drone on about taking photographs. Indeed, to be honest I gave up on it about two-thirds of the way through and decided to watch the paint dry on my Durin VI figure instead - much more exciting!

Re: The Taproom

Rhuoommm ... having decided as you did, I think it was a wise choice to do so ... huoommm ... I just said that that video-thing might be a good step forward in merchandising as some moving pictures were provided ... huoomm ... once that one comes across that site where this is reveiled ... huoommm ... you know, a first step, that's what I meant ... rhuoommm ... but alas,
let us not talk falsely now ... rhuoommm ...
So I learned that whenever you're missing in these premises to let others do your job, you're just hiding in a backroom watching paints ... rhuoomm ... strange that is ... huoommm ... of course I know you're working on how to improve that scrumpy-liquid ... rhuoommm ... but that new idea of having some painty-stripper might not fit to the taste of them rat-tail-scrumpy-brew ... huoommm ... huoommm ... just think it over again, please ... rhuoommm ... or find someone around here to have a first taste ... huoommm ... taste, you know that word, Master Barliman? ... huooommmrhuoommmhomm ... just keep me bowl of water clean of all them experiments, please ... huuuooomm

Re: The Taproom

Huoommmmmrhuoommmmmm .... Witch King, Black Númenorian this year ... rhuoommm ... Broggha maybe early next year and that Dwarven Party, too ... huoommm ... maybe that Isildur for free ... the half-troll standard bearer ... rhuooooommmm ... well, sounds as if I should consider now how to get them coiny things being needed for that ... huoommm ...
ahhh ! Master Barliman, nice to meet you here. ... rhuoomm ... ahem ...err ... I just thought about ... ahem ... helping you out a bit around here ... huoommm ... you know polishing glasses with me sensitive twigs and branches ... or ... cleaning some rotten trodden-on-non-biting warg-skin-doormats ... rhuoommm ... things like that, you know? ... just for some ... ahem ... coiny-things you call that metal which some of the regulars here use to pass on to you ... well, agreed?

Re: The Taproom

well, with the very little spare time I had this week end I made some very necessary updates on the mithril website , so here is a short list :
- the database is up to date until MS533 (with official pictures, and related links for the Witch-King....)
- the chronology of "fellowship" releases with all links has been posted publicly as top first post of the Prancing Pony
- MX535 "An Unexpected Party" will be ready for display in the database as soon as released
- PM2 "The Creator and Destroyer of Dwarves" will be ready for display in the database as soon as released (if ever...)
- A new rarity will appear in the Gallery section under "Uniques & Prototypes" in the forthcoming weeks (probably rarer than Morlas...)
- I asked some precise and detailed information concerning some never-released rarities and hopefully will be able to provide pics, or informations at leasts in the forthcoming days. (be sure to check the Mathom House)

Huoommmm ... yes, and hasty he is, our Elf ... rhuoommm ... and wise ... hoommm .. as he told you to check the Mathom House about some matters ... rhuoommm ... alas ... there will be something to do for me too ... that conversion-thread wasn't fed for a while ... rhuoomm ... we'll see, I cannot haste everything, not even a drink ... rhuoommm

Re: The Taproom

Well, Master Tree, if you can use those besom-broom-type fingers of yours to sweep up the mess Nob leaves behind (no pun intended) when he, er, sweeps up, that would be worth a few coiny things - but not too many, or else I won't be able to afford all those little metal treaasures myself!
