Huoommm .... in the oven? ... so you'll have to turn that beast slowly unless you want it be burned at only one side ... gruoohhmmmhom ... though ... mfff ... mfffff ... mf ...
Master Barlimman, the smell I witness ... rhuoommm ... could it also be a donkeyly-smell with a slight note of burned flesh? ... huoommm ... I'm not sure, of course, but anyway ... rhuom ... I'm not here for dining .... rhuoommmm .... what about serving me a nice bowl of clear-clean-watery-honey-coloured-liquid-that is called 'you know what I mean' ... mfff ... rhuoomm ...
ahh, I just see that your Christmas decoration has declined a bit ... rhuoomm ... well, that's the way it goes in Bree .... huoommm ...
Offline
'Donkeyly'???? I think you've already had quite enough to drink...
Offline
rhuoommm ... alright that is, Master BarlimanBarkeep .... nevertheless ... don't mind, please ... I just wanted to get some rest ... and some water ... rhuoomm ... as I'm still very much concerened about how to assemble mote than two oxen to that cart ... rhuoommm ... I just tried to have an idea of the old Roman traction systems ... rhuoomm ... that one based on the tandem hitch ... rhuoommm ... if you know what I mean ... hooommm ... what I meant was to ask of a clear-clean-you-know-what ....
ahem ... theat V shape for having addinional oxen to be fit ... might make some sense .... rhuoommm ... alas, I did never ask for one of your brews, Master Barliman, all I was asking for was some of that water .... rhuoomm ... though, as I consider ... I might better ask elsewhere in Bree ... see?
Offline
You can't really believe that I've been giving you just water all these years!
And you've lost me somewhere en route... what cart and oxen? Have I missed an earlier enquiry? As you've rightly surmised, my only working experience of oxen is roasting them on a spit.
Offline
Rhuoommm ... but I was always asking for some water ... and as for them oxen you might have a look over there at the Mathom House of them Delving- man ... rhuoommm ... though it might be closed by now, as it is late .... gruhoommm .... don't worry about the oxen ... I think I solved that problem by now .... rhuommm ... should read 'bye for now' .... alas ... is it the water or them languages .... rhuoommm ...
as for roasting an ox, your hearth is a bit too ... well, lets say small ... gruommm ... about that spit you referred to ... you might add that device to that oven you mentioned ... unless you first try to roast a chicken .... rhuoommm ...

Uhm...
I'm confused. But then, I am only on my second cup of tea.
Yesterday I finished painting my nine GW Dwarves for my little battle-company/warband/thing. Even with my frayed doomed brushes, not-entirely perfect paint stripping, and rubbish GW undercoat*, they turned out reasonably well. Hopefully I'll finish Theodred and the two Swan Knights today. Then it's time to finish painting the next company of Gondorian warriors (Time Machine flavour Gondor Warband) with Pelargir colours.**
Tomorrow, however, its off to the big city to buy a new set of brushes and a new tin of undercoat. I think I've gotten the "trick" of using Canadian flavoured GW undercoat*** down. Well, as down as I'll ever get.
Lucky me.
* GW undercoat sucks, but it doesn't melt plastic figures the way vallejo does. What's more, its always entirely surprising what comes out. I've had some lovely results and some truly hideous results. The Canadian formulation is inferior to the British formulation, weirdly.
** According to Tengwar, the Royal Army of Gondor at Pelargir has the same colour scheme and shield design as Minas Tirith, but with silver rimmed shields (not white) to represent the sea. As you can see, I displayed a great deal of creativity and thought by...painting the shield rims silver.
*** Quick spray outside on a mild damp day, no more than three applications, finish the job by hand with Chaos Black paint.
(Pictures of the Gondorians to come, when I've figured out their basing)

Back again for a short rest in here.
So:
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all !!
May the new year bring some improvements in the company's affairs- you know the primer thing and the "extension" of prices must stop.
May the new year be a nice "Mithrilian" one to us all.

Well,
A belated Happy New Year to all, and hopes for a cozy winter with long nights of painting! Now that the busy season is mostly over for us restaurant types, hopefully I can return to the painting table!
Take care, and may 2010 bring more blessings, good fortune and fellowship to us all!

oh, that last year was not bad. Everybody mostly wishes a better year, what means that the passed one was bad one ?!
No, not at all, let´s wish another GOOD year! ( didn´t I wish something similar before . . . it seems . . . )
Well, Master Barliman, having sooo much alcoholic drinks the last couple of days, I will enjoy a bowl of this announced liquid pure water, that the Tree prefers . . .

As for rumours, maybe there'd be some if The Man got round to sending the pictures of the next Helm's Deep release that he promised me some months ago... And on reflection, things have gone very quiet all round on the next 'M' releases.

mmmh, we are waiting for these, Master Barli, indeed, we are waiting. If I remember well, there is only one single regular mithril m-release published accross 2009.
A bit less, isn´t it. Some people will tell, that there were be a lot of "other" releases so far. They are right.
But if I remember also there are about five releases of Helm´s Deep planned. Do we have to wait four more years . . ?
I should think about having some practical courses in patience somewhere in the depths of Fangorn . . .

Huooommmm ... so the Archer is considering about trying to keep some impatience under control ... rhuuommm ... that's good, as that is what good archers need ... huomm ... though it means to have some practise with it ....

I need a new wire brush.
Trying to de-scudify the remaining Rohan warriors (avec le pea soup undercoat). Some of it has sloughed off. Lots of it has not. My last wire brush died a death a few days ago. Time to get a new one tomorrow.
This is frustrating.

Don't I know it. But happily I dealt with mine a while ago, so it's now no more than a painful memory.
