I just read that you're working on Moria.

I started such diorama in 1994. I finished last Orcs painting in 1998 !
It contains the following sets:

M124 - Strider
M125 - Gandalf
M128 - Boromir

M149 - Half-troll commander
M150 - Uruk
M151 - Orcs of Mordor
MB300 - The Balrog of Moria
M309 - Orc warband leader
M310 - Mordor Orc standard-bearer
M311 - Mordor Orc archers
M313 - Armoured Orcs (axe/warhammer)
M328 - Lugburz Orc tracker
M331 - Lugburz Orc fighting
M333 - Lugburz great Uruk
M334 - Lugburz captain w/whip
M335 - Snagas (small Orcs)

It is not complete yet as I intend to add behind Aragorn and Boromir Exit stairs with the other members of the fellowship
(M123 - Frodo & Sam, M126 - Legolas, M127 - Gimli, M129 - Merry & Pippin)
I thinked also of adding a cathedral's roof with red lighting but I do not have time anymore (maybe when I am retired)

A nice scene. I like the books ( ! ) A very large thing, this Chamber of Mazarbul.

Chamber of Marzabul:

Balin's tomb is coloured because I wanted to show the mountains during 24hours time with sun or Moon rising.

Torches were also burned and fixed to the wall by iron stands.[imgz]TBD[/imgz]
I created book with balsa + painted paper. Some opened book contain elfic or dwarvic runes. [imgz]TBD[/imgz]
Eastern door and the table are also made of balsa and waxed. [imgz]TBD[/imgz]
Shelves where found in my favourite mithril's shop, I can't remember any reference for it.[imgz]TBD[/imgz]

Walls are made of balsa, sculpted and painted.
Tiled floor here is made of plaster:  I spreaded 3mm of plaster on a plastic stand. I let it dry and sculpted tiles one by one.
I like the result very much as it seems real once painted.

Wooow so I for a firs post I hope here will be more photos... since 1987 it is a long time that you are fan of mithril so It must be more photos... and now comments

I really like picture of Beorn... on this almost natural small diorama....

.... and finally Chamber of Marzabul... also great diorama... and I have one question... where have you bought this thumb... those walls and other parts of diorama decoration.

Yes, Master Milo, I do like all of what you provided here very much. It's interesting to meet people who also have been busy with painting Mithrils and diorama-making for such a long time.
So I think you have found the right place here after all these years. You will enjoy.

M343 - Aragorn's leave-taking

These Two miniatures were extracted from an elvish diorama I did in 1999:
Originaly, there was a hill, some trees, a river,  a wooden brigde, flowers everywhere, and many elves around Aragorn's leave-taking.
Unfortunately, it got destroyed during a move so I took out every miniatures and put them back on its pedestal.

I may one day rebuild the all set...
