Re: The Taproom

Good idea.

It seems to me that another instance has arisen here of the tail wagging the dog, if you see what I mean. Surely the point of the Fellowship figures is that we get what WE want? By this I don't mean that Chris's or Mithril's views should be steamrollered, but rather that there should be some sort of process via which issues of this sort could be negotiatedand and agreed between the month's "winner" and Chris/Mithril, rather than the decision being presented as a fait accompli without any prior discussion taking place. What think you?

Huoommmrhuoomm ... eagles? ... four of them still s(h)it on me branches, if you know what I mean ... huoomm ... and, alas, what think me, tree? ... rhuoomm ... I'll have to consider my thoughts about that entirely ... rhuoommm ... hoomm ... that will take some time ... more or less ... huoommrhuoommm ...
as for a side note Master Barliman tried to quote me .... rhuoom ... I cannot remember having used that "Ho-hummmmmmmm"-sound here ever ... rhuoomm ... though there's some Entish touch to it ... hommm ...

Huoommm ... sorry, but I need a drink now ... it took me hours over there in the Mathom House to hang up new pigs .. huom? ... no, pics, they were, I think ... anyway, I managed somehow ... so let me calm down a bit here, Master Barliman, having a bowl as there's no better place in Bree to relax ... huoommm ... smile

Re: The Taproom

Indeed, I hope they weren't pigs - they certainly don't look like pigs - though they may be jpigs (or is that jpegs?).

This masterpiece is something you should be very proud of. It simply would not exist without you. For that, you're welcome to hang the odd pig on the walls if that's what you like to do for relaxation.

Huooommmm ... thank you, Master Barliman, for your kind words ... rhuooommm ... but as for relaxation I would rather prefer to go outside after this drink and clean the doormats ... rhuom

Re: The Taproom

So do I. Unfortunately I'm not sure we've got any. But I do have this fine barrel of maturing scrumpy - do you fancy risking a pint of that? I'd like to say I recommend it, but I'd be less than honest if I did. It will certainly put hairs on your feet, though.

Re: The Taproom

I'm glad to hear your thoughts, Master Estel - because I thought the very same thing when I first saw him! To be honest, the very first thing I thought was "Just another Elf!" Not too sure what I'd been expecting, but I suppose I'd been hoping for something, well, more special. A nicely enough designed figures, but all in all what I first thought still applies - just another Elf.

Perhaps the sheer brilliance of the UP set has simply spoilt me for all other Mithrils that I ever see from now on!

I think that from all the babies getting born over the past few months, Nob must be slipping something into the scrumpy that I don't know about...

Congratulations George, Best wishes to you and your wife! Kids do keep you busy, but you will find some time to yourself, and you will appreciate it very much.

Re: The Taproom

you're all too right master estel...

in the first months they spend their times "eating" and sleeping... but after the 5th month or so... mines is 8 months old... it is quite time consuming indeed smile

Re: The Taproom

Sorry master Barliman, I got disturbed by some adventure in my kitchen.
YES I will have one pint of this fine barrel of maturing scrumpy.
Not risky at all as "Better at the later end of a feast, than the beginning of a fray." wink

I shall also advise Master Aragorn: My own boy who's 4 years old is always going around his fathers mithril miniatures to see if he could take one.

So, keep it safe !

Re: The Taproom

Adventure in the kitchen? What, an Orc attack, or something worse? Have an ale - it never fails to make the problem seem much less significant.

Re: The Taproom

Huuoommmm ... just want to let you know about another matter that ... rhhuoommmgrruoohuuomm
which upsets me ... I just received news from the Lady being responsible for the dispatch part of The Company for some time .... huoommm ... I was charged on March 1st for the three new MS-releases ... huoomm ... she found out that they were sent with regular mail on March 2nd ... grrrrruoooommmm ... I contacted her again to find out why they did not arrive here .... huoommm ... the answer simply was, that obviously they are lost somewhere and that she will deal no more with that, but rather leave this to Joan, who will return back to the company next week ... grrrrrrrrrrrrrruuuuuooooohhhhhhmmmmmmmmm .... so what?

Master Barliman, I need some liquid now that definitely is not based on any watery-etc.-things, something strong, something to hold me down ... huom ... you know

Yes, sounds like you need a drink after that frustration. Not very impressive service for such an expensive order, is it?
