very bad news...

Thebald, Zoetrop... I do have very bad news...
Today I was going, by car to visit my parents, I took all the pictures CD from Zoetrop and from Theobald to work on them, along with my working case, my Portable Computer... some backpack...

I paused for lunch at noon, on my way home...

When I went back... the right window had been shatered.... they stole everything.... portable... backpack... working case with important work documents (my work contracts among them and passport)  and the portable... and all the CD sad

I went back at home for easter... not going anymore to see my parents as I am too shoked and the car window is broken and unsafe...

I will have to find a way to rebuild back what I have lost... and do all the procedures... but well.... I know It may annoy you... would it be possible to generate a new set of cd for me? I will pay you the CDrom if need be sad I hope you still had the data on computer somewhere and these were only copies....  For theobald : all the papers you had sent me were with them sad sad I alas fear they are forever lost ... I am really sorry sad

well I'm leaving for now.. trying to think about something else...

Re: very bad news...

those are bad news indeed ... at the moment just try to keep your head up ... that's all I can advise at the moment .... and there's no need to think of annoying us ... not all all.
So, what's gone is gone ... I know about losing things in which a lot of time was spent in.
You're right trying to think of something else. The best you can do. And I would like to add that there are more serious matters in a life that have nothing to do with Mithril or MMP. So first set your options again once you have recovered from that shock.
Then at the end of that list you might consider your website again. But, please do not haste.
Remember that we managed to start a new MMP. Remember that there are others who try to save data. Be patient. Of course I can copy those CDs again ... no problem ... and do not think about costs for a CD ... wink ... about those papers I sent you do not worry ... so they're gone, but just today I found more ... and I think I will be able to get copies of those which are lost ....
don't feel too sad, Gildor .... just try to cope with the facts ....
just trying to make you smile again there is fish ...

Re: very bad news...

thanks theobald I appreciate... smile

Fact is, I lost much more than only mithril related stuff .... part of my life, very dear things to me are gone... build back up and turne the page over will not be an easy thing...
Thankfully I had decided not to take anything to paint this week end... I could have lost figurines lol, but well figurines would have been easier to replace than which was lost...

Re: very bad news...

I'm sorry to hear about that Gildor.  sadmadsad  I hope everything gets sorted out as easily as possible for you.  (Especially considering your passport and work things.)  Yes, don't worry about seeing to the Mithril things until the other is taken care of.

It's sad that people resort to stealing and destroying things that belong to others.  sad

Re: very bad news...

If only, at least, they had taken the things of any "value"... let's say the computer only... ok, well that has value, it's stolen...
I loose money they make money out of it...

but they take everything they find, no matter if it is of use or value... and then all those things are thrown away because they don't care about them... and they are never to be found again... by anybody.. and strangely it is THOSE things that have the most important value to YOU....
Thankfully, I had my papers with me, visa, ID card, money, and even train subscriptions and MP3 reader... they only took the passport and checks (without even knowing ,forsure, that they had took them...)

Re: very bad news...

Gildor, I am sorry to hear of your lost, and agree with the others that you should put your personal needs first. And your first concern is to protect your identity. You must have already contacted your government officials to report the theft of your passport. I encourage you to watch your bank accounts and credit cards to be sure the theif does not steal from you more than they already have.

Good luck with your work, and hopefully this will not cause you problems with contracts or clients. I know that we keep much of a personal nature also on our laptops, and I would be devastated if mine was stolen.

Best Wishes

Re: very bad news...

as for passport and bank everything is done... they did not steal the credit cards I had them with me... only the paper checks and these are blocked.

As for my contracts, it was my working contracts (not the ones with clients but my monthly income papers and my own signed job contract...)

strange as it seems, what pains me the most is that in my bag for vacations I had taken one of my most precious plushie with me... and it was stolen along with the rest... and that saddens me really deeply... (i'm over sensible ...)

Re: very bad news...

I am also very sorry to learn of your bad luck. Although I have not experienced such a thing myself I can imagine to some extent what this situation must mean to you - to lose things which are of no value to the robbers but irreplaceable for you. But I hope that I can help you to replace at least some some small item by sending you the CD with the images of my Mithril minis again.
Best wishes

Re: very bad news...

I've only just seen this strand - very sorry to hear of your loss, Gildor, and especially of things to which you're emotionally atached. Sadly the world is full of garbage, and a lot of it walks around on two legs. I had my entire car stolen complete with its contents a few years ago, and though the car was eventually recovered only the stuff in the boot hadn't been taken. I've always locked everything in the boot ever since.
