Re: My little Mithril fellows

Hi Master Elroi,

Celebrimbor is magic, and you managed to paint a glittering ring !
Undead are frightening and...dead lol

Finaly, Moria gate, well, Gandalf has perfect colors, very inspirationnal indeed ! Thanks for showing us your skills.

I every one agrees, I will send you M113 Sam which is part of extras for MMP dioramas as we have many other minis around Barliman already.

Re: My little Mithril fellows

Fantastic work, great colour choices and simple, but effective compositions. I like the small touches such as the broken corner of the flagstone on Celebrimbor's base.

Once, my eyesight was good enough to paint small details like glittering rings and eyes on figures this size big_smile

Keep 'em coming.

I agree totally to the others. Fantastic work, Master Roi, absolutely.
And I am glad about the fact, that you are still posting here big_smile

Re: My little Mithril fellows

Thanks a lot for your comments, I appreciate them a lot and encourage me to keep working hard wink

Master Thingol, I made this "artificial water tests" after watching some of your natural diorams

Master Milo, that would be great! Please, tell me how can I repay for this generosity

Master Daines, you´re right. By now, i´m doing simple compositions in my scenes. In a near future, I´ll try with bigger and more elaborated diorams (your works and also Master Turambar´s ones, are always inspiring)

Not so frequently as i´d like, but I promise not to leave this little corner

Re: My little Mithril fellows

This is really astonishing painting Master Elroi !
Except for plastic bases which are not genuine mithril stuff (still very well executed, but I'm a purist) , Mithril's web site should rely on such talented painter for promotional events.
Did you try to propose your skills to the company ?

Re: My little Mithril fellows

Mmm, I have never thought before in that possibility (after all, I´m not a professional painter, it´s just my hobby), but it´s an interesting idea. How should I contact with them? and more important, what could I exactly say? I don´t want money for my paintwork.... maybe new releases miniatures or old ones to complete colections? I really don´t know how does it works.

I use plastic bases because I don´t like asymmetrical ones (like the mithril originals), for personal and aesthetic reasons only (but I understand you, the purists smile )

And thanks a lot for the words, Master Milo

Re: My little Mithril fellows

Great painting! Very impressive. Love the walking dead. I wonder if it would be possible to apply some (rusty) patches on the chainmail. I've never done that, but I'm sure with your skills it would come up great! cool

Re: My little Mithril fellows

Master Thingol, Master of Languages and Master Caster, thanks a lot. I´ll apply some rusty effects to the chainmail, I agree it will be a nice detail.

I´m very happy painting mithril miniatures and sharing them here. In my spanish forum, most people are used to modern and heavily detailed miniatures (not only GW but other different fantasy ones) and dislike of mithril ones, so don´t understand why I´m now painting that "ugly" miniatures   roll

Maybe the nostalgia (they were my very firsts miniatures 20 years ago) is more important than I like to admit, but I really think that the quality of the mithril stuff is very high (and exists other factors, like the fidelity to Tolkien world).

Master Milo, received and read, thanks a lot!!!

Absolutely.
Since I gave my orcs a rusty effect, they do look much better . . .

Now that looks more like the real deal! After all what dead person would polish his armour? lollol
A figure can be very plain, the paint makes all the difference!
