Re: The Taproom

I am mildly envious. My Corsair Warband, and Black Numenorean Captain And Something I can't remember arrived yesterday. I haven't opened the box yet. Still unpacking.

I will probably get Hirluin and Eowyn when I pick up the Knights of Dol Amroth warband (with the Imrahil vignette!).

Speaking of unpacking, all my boxes arrived today, so now I get to take out the collection (not immediately) and see what needs re-glueing, what needs repainting and what came through unscathed. Kinda excited to paint again soon.

Last time I served octopus it ate three customers. I think we'll stick to pork scratchings.

Re: The Taproom

It is much better in the oven with potatoes, with fish soup and asparagus as savor and with lettuce made by wild radicchio, tomato, onion, olives, olive oil and  home made vinegar….   and a glass (or 2) of great white vine...... Master tree believe me. Here where I live it is a big gastronomic specialty! I like octopus too.... but in this moment in unpopular to discuss about this since we have international octopus superstar somewhere out here. For approximately one year after our panic world forget on Paul… master Barliman could put this on the menu …

Re: The Taproom

ahhh then I may be able to cook you some delicious meals indeed wink  Some recipes I have fetched in very far countries during my travels as a guest in Vingilot (that's another story...) they come from another continent, east of Endor, east of Hildorien, near the "Walls of the Sun" mountains chains. These are called the "Dark Land".

their culture is quite exotic and spicy!

(see provided map to locate them)

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... rhuom .... well, Master Gildor, do they also fry or bake octopuses over there? ... rhuoommm ... well and then there's a mistake in the map on the right, at the very bottom of it ... rhuoomm ....

Re: The Taproom

the map is not by me, but the runes may be wrong as you say smile

about octopuses, yes these are cooked too but these are not my speciality... I prefer those they call Saté, Chop Suey, Curry or even those delicious Yakitori!

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... it's not about the runes ... what I meant simply is that it should read "3rd" instead of "3th" ... rhuoommm ... so what about that very spicy-octopussy-recepy from the "Dark Land" ? ... rhuoommm ... to...doomm ... to ... tommely-dom ... just let us know, please ... huom

Re: The Taproom

Ach, fellows, you are witnessing Eru's prophetic gift in one of His lesser creatures, and all you can muse about is how to devour it. Far from surprising in this ethically challenged establishment, though ... wink

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm .... as you ask, Master Barliman, about the sausages you serve ... huom ... when I tried to cut one of them ... ahem ... rhuoomm ... it was an interesting mixture, so to say ... rhuommm ... some pig's snout mixed with tentacles and trotters ... hooommm ... must be kind of an old Breeish way of cooking ... rhuoomm ... though I wonder where you can get hold of them covered-with-suctorial-organs-tentacles-parts-of-beings ... huoommm ... strange that is ... rhuoomm ... very strange indeed ... hom ....
