well Prince august new airbrushes are "two actions" (you press to impulse air and then you pull to inject paint, these are indeed expensive,  100euros without compressor, but there is an offer for a little metal case with portable mini compressor (noisy but small and I tested it it is fine)  and all the airbrush material for a total of 159€... Now I would use airbrush for ... base paint application (primer or basic colors before applying dry brushing, or painting details, or "glacis")  or else for the cloth folds using airbrush when there is no sculpted texture like furs

but this is an investment and though I like the feeling I need to have some feedback before about what's possible for miniatures at this scale... Some people are expert at it but I lack examples

At that price it seems reasonable and it sounds like a double action airbrush. If your gut feeling is that it is a worthwhile investment then perhaps you should take a chance and go for it. Have you done  a Google search for the model to see if others have given reviews (but do take them in context with the type and price - don't expect a Rolls Royce performance when you pay the price of a small car ).

Be aware that some compressors if they do not have an air reservoir can be a bit tempermental in terms of a consistent flow of air (hence I hate cans of compressed air ). Sometimes small compressors can also move about (not an issue, but if you have a cat, at that size it may think it is a rat ).

I'm far from an expert in airbrush use, but as I said before at Mithril scale pastels can give great results on clothing.

I think airbrush users fall into two camps, those that love them and those that hate them .

Well, if there is anybody who is interested in my experiences . . .
I used an airbrush during university as a special subject. As for colouring achitectural show-plans!
It is very expensive and very intensive putting into care, as master Tree pointed out. And you defenetly need a compressor!
Nothing else like air-tubes or garbage like that . . .
I use it to undercoat my unstripped miniatures. But I left this way. Too complex for this case, though the results are brilliant.

For my oppinion totally disable for painting 32mm scale miniatures!
Can´t imagine to have a nearly considerable result!
But if you like Gildor, use it,  and try to paint 32mm figures with an airbrush.

But don´t forget to show them here . . .

well, considering all your feedback I think I'll pass on this and avoid versing into airbrushing.... too costly and mithril figurines are expensive enough like that!!!!!

actually my wife just informed me I finally received the Sauron figurine today , with the "1" engraved under the base....

there is a mystery though :  the parcel was sent on Feb 9th... registered.  though according to Mithril it was sent before HD2 which I received late in January...
Either they forgot to send it at all.... and did it last thursday... or they sent it again and thus re engraved a figurine with a "1" making a second "so called" first casting... which thus means it clearly has no meaning at all...
