Many Mithril Pages @ Faerylands

Perhaps it's with the intention of better matching them to the generally accepted standard 28mm wargame scale? Maybe the hope is that they'll sell more that way. I shall have to ask The Man.

Ah, the zombie wolves would be from Gamezone, I imagine? Nice figures though, aren't they? I just bought a couple of their Vampire Mournful Knights - very impressive bits of sculpting.

Huoommm ... mine are not smaller at all ... huom ... I hope you didn't order some dwarves, Master Barliman .... rhuoomm ... I think some of the MERP-release figures way back in 2007 didn't fit the size ... huooommmm ...

I'm absolutely displeased with that horrible, once slimy, stuff that covers most parts of the surface of these nice figures ... rhuoomhuomhom ... incredible that is ... it even hurts me!!! ... rhuoomm

I've noticed the scale issues: the original Helm's Deep figures are probably wandering closer to the 40mm scale than the traditional Mithril scale. Some of those guys look like giants compared to their other metal kin.

So, we are agreed? Primer goes away?

As for the size of the figures I really cannot agree .... huoommm ... I just measured different sizes from top to toe ... huomm ... the new ones are of the same size as the corsairs, so here you're right ... huom ... the Mw347 figures also fit to 32mm (the only one who comes close to an upright pose is the Angrenost captain on foot, I believe) ... huommm ... MS423 is about 1 mm taller than 32mm meseems ... so he's not a "veritable giant" .... rhuoommm ... maybe you forgot that certain helmets might give a different impression of the size of a figure .... huommm so does the volume and pose of a figure ... rhuoommm ... no, I'm about sure that The Man still sticks to the good old size ... huuuoommm ... anything else wouldn't make much sense .... homm

I can assure you, Master Tree, that the new Helm's Deep figures are distinctly smaller  when stood alongside MS423, or the Mw347 figures, even allowing for different poses, bent knees, helmets and all. I'm surprised you can't see it! But then, you've been imbibing some of my stronger, er, water as well, so perhaps that explains it.

I would not mind, if the primer goes away, as I am always painting my figures and make use of black primer on my figures. This is hard, when a grey primer is on the figures, as I did not want to obscure the details, the MAN has created.

I would like to have a primer on the GF-figures as these are mostly characters and need special care when painting them, so I do not need tp give them a black priming.

What Rohan(ish) figures are they, then? Are we talking about the same Gamezone? - they only seem to do heavily armoured Gothic jobs as far as cavalry are concerned. Or have I missed something?

The problem,Master Tree, is that Mithril no longer seem capable of priming with the old nice stuff, but seem to use some sort of diluted plaster instead. If they can't do better than that then I think we'd be better off without any primer at all. I've just had to strip all the primer off the new M figures so that I can get back to the detail before I paint them. I could do without having to do that every time!

Having said that, I fail to understand why Mithril should be having such a problem with their primer. Just change supplier, guys - it isn't hard!
