MB279 - The Lord of the Nazgul

I painted this vignette in 1997.
Wings appeared to be a little too nice.
For wings extremities in the middle, I used toothpicks.
I asked my cat "Bilbo" to provide me some claws for top wings extremities.
Thanks to my pet, wings look much better !

Here, I feel this is my best painting I did so far. The Miniature is fantastic, everything went very well with painting.
I even managed to add a tear on Eowyn's cheek using one brilliant varnish droplet.

That's all folks !

Do not hesitate to send your comments, criticism and any questions.

Re: My work, since 1987...

This is absolutely great, Milo!
I think it is the second time (!) I see a painted nazgul-box! The other example was such horrible, better forget its existence!
So I am very glad indeed to see a real fine example of one of my absolutely favourite mithril miniature!

PS: ahh, and the Arthedain Captain picture has been modified!

Great work! I have always claimed the termination "mate" of the colors. Yours are just perfect .....smile

Milo - I agree with the other posters!  Your work is really, really good - and has obviously gotten better over the years.

Nice, well painted, and creative.

Looking forward to more of it!

Re: My work, since 1987...

This morning, with sun rising, I managed to take pictures of some Bilbo's legend: Smaug.

Click to close  Click to close
MB345 - The Vengeance of Smaug

Maybe you can notice that its belly's skin is covered with diamonds (except one unarmoured patch of bare skin on his breast...). This was done with nail varnish I found in my wife's make-up.

I recently bought Mithril handbook and discovered that the presented painted dragon is almost the same as mine (especially wings). This is a pure coincidence.

You are right ! I took the pictures this morning.
Miniatures look much better this way than using a standalone presentation.

MV376 - The Barrow-tomb

I tried to paint the tomb to obtain "white marble effect". Very difficult and not completely successfull...
In this vignette, I like the hobbits above all.

Re: My work, since 1987...

Last paint was in 2008: M303 - Great Eagle attacking Orc (page 1).

I only restarted to work on it when I joined you. Looking at all your paintings revived my soul I guess...
I am working on "M136 - The Mirror of Galadriel " at the moment.
Next will be "unexpected party". I wish to build Bilbo's house for it (at least living room).
I might finish this in 2011.hmm

As Master Thingol pointed out: the Rivendell scene is very nice!
But this Barrow-Tomb is magnificent . . . Great job, Master Milo!
